Robert is a Colorado native with historic ties to the old west. His great, great uncle, Charles Varnum was Custer's Chief of Scouts, and fought in the Battle of the Little Big Horn. His great grandmother, Blanche Stinger, was one of the first pioneer children born in Wyoming. His father's family homesteaded in Eastern Colorado and Wyoming.

Barbara was born in Germany and has had the opportunity to travel the world. She's a self taught folk artist with a degree in computer science. She has owned businesses in Virginia, California, Colorado and now here in Cody Wyoming!


The couple has been married since 1980 and have lived in Cody since 2001. In addition to working in their their retail gift business and Angels' Keep Bed & Breakfast, the pair can often be seen mountain biking, hiking, or touring their little corner of the world, from Yellowstone National Park to the the beautiful Bighorn National Recreation Area. You are invited to bring along your hiking gear, road bikes or mountain bikes and join them on any of their adventures. Their newest outdoor hobby is geocaching, a high tech version of treasure hunting. Whether you choose to stay a night, or stay a lifetime, you are sure to enjoy the western hospitality offered by Robert, Barbara, and the entire community!
